In 2004, Wastex became Members of Site Safe NZ. This move was necessary in order to protect our Team, The Public but most importantly, OURSELVES!

All Workers hold a current Site Safe Card that is refreshed every 2 years to keep up with the changes.
With the nature of our job, we have always felt its important to promote High Health & Safety Standards throughout our Company.

First Aiders throughout Team.
All PPE provided to suit works.
Best Quality tools/equipment.
Onsite Liaising, Supervision, Training from Safety rep.

HEALTH & SAFETY PRACTICE

Power/Hand tool signed operating team manual.
Prestart toolbox ( before commencing any demo works on site ).
Monthly Health and safety meeting with team.
Hazard Register with active controls in place.
Incident Accident Reporting Register with minimal incidents to date.
PPE, First Aid Kits and Fire Extinguishes available in every Wastex truck.

HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY STATEMENT

Our Company is committed to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace to ensure that our Employees and others are not injured. Our goal is to eliminate all injuries, accidents and incidents. To achieve this goal we will make safety a priority on all of our sites and jobs and we will require active participation by everyone in our business to adequately plan the work we are carrying out and to act safely at all times.

We will:

Plan ahead to systematically identify and control all hazards in our workplace and to ensure our Employees have the right plant and skills needed to work safely and control these hazards.
Involve our Employees in safety activities.
Induct and train our Employees to recognize and control hazards and hold regular safety meetings.
Monitor our workplace to ensure our planned controls are effective.
Supervise our Employees to ensure they are acting safely.
Record all incidents and accidents in our workplace, investigate all known incidents and accidents and take action to prevent recurrence.
Develop and implement emergency and evacuation procedures.
Ensure all plant and equipment is maintained and safe to use.
Ensure our Employees are provided with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

We will uphold the SITE SAFE PASSPORT as a minimum training standard for our Employees and Subcontractors and we will ensure that our regular planned inspections will include monitoring of current Passports in workplaces we control. It is our policy to take all practicable steps to comply with the provisions of the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992, the Health and Safety in Employment Regulations 1995 and all Codes of Practice and Guidelines applying to the our business.

We stress the importance of Health & Safety and completing all relevant documentation within our Team on a regular basis. It’s to ensure we have all steps and processes in place to make sure works run safely each & every time. As a manager / owner we strive to empower, provide training or safe work environments to our employees.
